October 2016 – Green Fins inspires tourists in Xiamen, China to ‘Be the Best Diver – the Green Fins Way’
At the end of October, Reef-World staff Charlie Wiseman and Lui Hepworth participated in the 9th Xiamen Recreational Fisheries and Aquarium Expo (XRFE).
April 2016 – If Your Mission is to #SaveOurReefs, then Green Fins Really Does Work – Research Published in Environmental Management
Since 2012, in collaboration with Bangor University, Reef-World has been collecting data on diving behaviour in the Philippines and the adoption of Green Fins environmental practices as part of a study into the impacts of scuba diving on the health of our coral reefs.
April 2016 – Puerto Galera Implementation Activities – Philippines
After 2015, Puerto Galera members actually saw an increase in the potential threat from their dive centres so recently, international coordinators from Reef-World returned to reinvigorate momentum.
April 2016 – Two Minutes with Jim Toomey – Green Fins for a Blue Planet
Designed for the marine tourism industry, as well as local and national marine resource managers, we have a new two-minute video on sustainable diving titled “Green Fins for a Blue Planet”, produced by UNEP in partnership with syndicated cartoonist Jim Toomey.
December 2015 – Green Fins Philippines – Malapascua Activities
2015 saw another year where 100% of the active dive centres in Malapascua signed up to be members.
August 2014 – New Green Fins Members in the Maldives
Reef-World has recently returned from a three week mission to recruit, train and assess new dive centres in Ari Atoll
April 2014 – Green Fins at ADEX 2014 – Dedicated to Coral Reefs
The Reef-World Foundation, with the support of the United Nations Environment Programme, ran a booth at ADEX aimed at promoting the project and reaching out to divers to adopt best practices.
