Antigua and Barbuda has become the first English speaking country in the western hemisphere to implement the Green Fins initiative. The country is the 10th government worldwide to officially adopt Green Fins and the second in the Caribbean.
The Reef-World Foundation – the international coordinators of Green Fins – has completed the successful pilot of its Green Fins “Train the Trainer” programme; the first of its kind in the world.
The Reef-World Foundation – the international coordinators of Green Fins – is delighted to announce Tioman Dive Centre (TDC) as the winner of this year’s Green Fins Award. The award, which recognises Tioman Dive Centre as the Green Fins member with the lowest environmental impact, was presented as part of the BlueGreen360 Awards at ADEX Singapore (11-14 April 2019).
The Reef-World Foundation – the international coordinators of Green Fins – with the support of Professional SCUBA Schools International (PSS), is pleased to announce the launch of the Green Fins Dive Guide e-Course: a free online course designed to help dive professionals reduce the negative impacts of scuba diving on the underwater environment and conduct more environmentally friendly dives.

ZuBlu – Asia’s leading dive travel agency – have recently launched an enhanced platform which allows scuba divers and adventure travelers to quickly search for and book their perfect dive travel experience, as well as discover Green Fins dive resorts and liveaboards that together are leading the way towards a more sustainable dive travel industry.
From the 6th to the 7th December 2018, Reef-World attended the final meeting to approve new standards associated with SCUBA diving and the marine environment.
As members, Reef-World attended the 33rd General Meeting of ICRI in Monaco from the 5th – 7th December. The revolving Secretariat of this prestigious network of leading experts in the field of coral reef science and conservation is currently hosted by the governments of Monaco, Indonesia and Australia.
At the request of Ms Tricia Lovell, the Senior Fisheries Officer from the Department of Fisheries, Reef-World were invited to come to Antigua and Barbuda to help explore the potential of the introducing Green Fins into the country to help better manage the growing marine tourism industry.
