During the 1st to the 3rd March 2017, a Green Fins Workshop was conducted by The Reef-World Foundation attended by state conservation officers and rangers.

December 2016 – Green Fins Philippines – Malapascua members gaining momentum in move towards sustainability
In October – December 2016, volunteer assessors under the leadership of Reef-World were based in Malapascua Island, Cebu for the fourth year of assessments.
November 2016 – Green Fins Philippines – Rapid Site Assessment in Moalboal
In 2015, Moalboal members saw an increase in the potential threat from their dive centres, even above their first scores, so recently international coordinators from Reef-World returned to reinvigorate momentum.
November 2016 – Bangladesh – PATA New Tourism Frontiers Forum 2016
From the 23rd to the 25th November, Reef-World’s Operations Manager JJ Harvey was invited to present the Special Keynote speech on the topic of ‘Rethinking Sustainable Coastal and Marine Tourism Development’.
October 2016 – Green Fins inspires tourists in Xiamen, China to ‘Be the Best Diver – the Green Fins Way’
At the end of October, Reef-World staff Charlie Wiseman and Lui Hepworth participated in the 9th Xiamen Recreational Fisheries and Aquarium Expo (XRFE).
November 2016 – 2nd Global Coral Reef Partnership meeting and the 31st ICRI general meeting – Paris, France
On the 31st October, prior to the ICRI meeting, Reef-World managers attended the 2nd Global Coral Reef Partnership (CRP) meeting in the Ministry of Overseas Territories in Paris.
October 2016 – Green Fins partnership with Miss SCUBA International
As of the 12th November 2016, Green Fins are now official partners with the Miss SCUBA International (MSI) pageant, the only pageant programme that globally focusses on the importance of the oceans and their current struggle.
Sept/Oct 2016 – Green Fins Maldives – Expansion to Baa Atoll (UNESCO Biosphere Reserve)
From the 17th September to the 4th October, staff from The Reef-World Foundation were in the Maldives to support the Green Fins national team with the expansion of the initiative and to provide training for additional members of the team.
September 2016 – Green Fins and Green Bubbles unite (in person)!
Reef-World’s Chloe travelled to Santa Margherita, Italy, to give a Key Note speech on Sustainable scuba diving and labels at the Green Bubbles Mid Term Open Workshop.
October 2016 – Green Fins Japan: reaching out to new diving cultures in Tokyo
During the first week of October, Reef-World staff Jula visited Tokyo for a quick but very insightful three days of consultations with several influential stakeholders of the local diving industry.
