South Ari or Alifu Dhaal is a very popular atoll in the Maldives due to its exceptionally high quality dive sites. The deep, plankton rich waters surrounding the southern tip of the atoll allow for frequent sightings of whale sharks, manta rays, hammerhead sharks and other large pelagic fishes. Alert divers may also spot brightly coloured nudibranchs and frogfish at cleaning station hotspots whilst enjoying close-up encounters with manta rays.
